Seeing Pink for TSOT

Good morning friends!

So turns up, today is NOT Monday. It is actually Tuesday and totally spaced posting this entry.

I hope you all had a relaxing Memorial Day. As a Veteran the day means a lot to me, as I've seen so many pass before me. Thank you to those who paid the ultimate price, it's because of them that we are able to enjoy so many freedoms today.

Before it's too late, here is my design team card for this week's Try Stampin' on Tuesday challenge! We had a fun sketch that also had the add-on of a monochromatic theme! It just so happened that I got fun new ombre papers from the NEW SU catalog!

I used the new Eastern Medallions suite and it is really as beautiful as all of the pictures show. I must admit, I jumped on the train to order when it first came out, but was intimidated to use the dies. Now I regret doing so! They are SO beautifully detailed and have TONS of combinations. I used them with the new Lovely Words Thinlets.

I used NEW 2017-19 In Color Berry Burst and the matching DSP from the Color Theory Suite. The friend sentiment is actually the back side of the ombre paper and has this cracked paint look to it!  Its hard to see in the pictures, but there is Wink of Stella behind the die cuts and sponged onto the layers of cuts and added some of the new glimmer enamel dots in coordinating shades as well.

I hope you are able to play along with this week's challenge! Be sure to add your entry to the Facebook group or to the TSOT page with the Linky. It can be as simple or as detailed as your creative mind envisions it!

Thanks for stopping by and apologies for the late posting!

Have a stamptastic day!!

Tranquility in Tulips

Good morning friends!

Do you ever see a stamp set and not fall in love with it until someone else posts something awesome with it?

Not me. Never.

As a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, we are fortunate to be able to order select items early when a new catalog is about to be released. I LOVED a lot on the pre-order, but not enough to initially buy, ya know? That Tranquil Tulip set stood out to me, but I held off. Then I saw a video using the tulip set and a Label Me Pretty set, which I wasn't a fan of at all.

I. Fell. In. LOVE.

LOVE.

Fast forward to today when both packages are now here and I am in happy stamping bliss land.

Here's what I came up with:

For Mother's Day there were some beautiful purple tulips in my bouquet- which unfortunately made their way to the trash today. I memorialized them with this card. I also wish the Wood Textures DSP would be all in this one pattern, I just LOVE it. Its gorgeous and reminds me of one of our old barns growing up, which had tulips growing along side of it.

Trying to show off the Wink of Stella
I hope you fall in love with these sets. Tranquil Tulips is a hostess set in the 2017-18 catalog and let me tell you our host sets are going to knock your socks off. Gorgeous! You'll want to host ALL THE PARTIES! Sidetone: Host a party in June and get an extra $35 in Stampin' Rewards once its a qualified party! WOOT WOOT!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a stamptastic day and a relaxing Memorial Day weekend.

Wacky Watercooler's "Carry Over Celebration" Hop

Oh Hey! Good evening everyone!

I'm super excited to be a part of the Wacky Watercooler's blog hop again! These ladies are a blast and always have great conversation and projects! I feel like if we all met in person we'd be quite the gang!

My favorites are not the "oldest" sets per-say, but they have survived another annual catalog cycle which is a feat in itself!

The first card I made is one you probably saw on my Facebook in the demo or Stampin' Cafe groups. I love it. Simplicity is my game and this one came to me out of nowhere and I'm so glad it did!

I used a sheet of the gorgeous new Wood Textures DSP pack and stamped the sentiment from Big On Birthdays in Soft Suede to look like it was carved or burned into the wood. I then took the Seasonal Sentiments dies and cut the center out of the card and layered it onto soft suede to give it some dimension, and then tied some "contraband" $1 Target twine around it to complete the rustic look. (I did have the SU twine with silver in it, but looked too "clean" for my liking, lol. )

The second card I made was still along the same lines as clean and rustic, but using Timeless Textures instead. This is honestly not a set I use a whole lot (doesn't that break your heart...poor lonely stamps...) But I do love the floral-y image and its great for just a little elegance. The banner set is a great addition to cards and it's layered on a scrap of the Wood Textures DSP.

My last card with was probably my most favorite stamp set from last year's annual catalog and I was SO happy that it carried over into this one. I'm also excited for all the other watercolor like sets that are coming June 1. I don't know why I like it so much, probably because it's easy. If you've followed me for any length of time you know that I love a card that I can make in under 10 minutes that also looks fantastic. This is a set that I can easily do that with.

Are you loving Lemon Lime Twist? Dang it's cute! It makes everything POP! I was feeling bight after all the rustic. Paired with Basic Black and Flirty Flamingo makes this card just as fun as can be. I added some Wink of Stella, initially around the hearts, then around the sentiment, then I shook it by accident and made a mess. I decided I liked the mess and added more. (If you needed a glimpse for the creative process) Finally I added silver metallic shapes. Fun right?

For more information about any of the products used, feel free to contact your Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. If you are in the market for one, feel free to contact me!

Thanks so much for sticking around through all this. If you liked my projects, you'll LOVE the rest of the hop! Be sure to leave some comments on all the participant's pages, we love the love!

Next up is Marie Green! If you'd like to hop backwards, because why not? Click previous and check out Penny's awesome projects!

Feminine Sneak Peek!

Hey everyone!

I'm back from a whirlwind weekend of the United We Roll Alaska State Roller Derby Tournament and it was a blast!!

It's probably my favorite event of the year.

I don't have much time today to chat, as I have 7 minutes to submit my card for the Watercooler Wednesday challenge!!

This week's theme was feminine!

Here goes!

I'll come back and edit once I submit!!

See you soon!

****Okay! Submit with 3 minutes to spare!

This gorgeous DSP is from the NEW Stampin' Up! catalog that will be released June 1! It's called Delightful Daisy and pairs with a pretty awesome punch. The colors are soft and feminine and I think you'll really love this pack. The sentiment, which is so sweet, is from the new Colorful Seasons bundle and I know for a fact you will love this one. It has TONS of stamps and matching dies to coordinate with the set.

I offset the paper and used the scallop circle from the layering circles thinlets, then stamped the sentiment in Versa Mark and finally heat set in copper. The little pool party bakers twine is form the Cupcakes and Carousels accessory pack, which is retiring at the end of the month.

I think it fits the feminine bill pretty well and was a pretty fast card to make--which is my favorite!

Have a stamptastic day!!

Teacher Appreciation week!

Good morning!

This week kicks off Teacher Appreciation week, which admittedly I completely spaced until a friend asked for a few cards.

Then I remembered I signed up to bring stuff for my son's school. So a quick Snicker's salad a a few cards later, I was back ahead of the game!

For today's cards, I needed something that I could make quickly, so I went to Pinterest looking for a little inspiration and found that Erica Cerwin made these lovely teacher cards! Great Scott- I was on a roll!

So, here is my cased version!

Anyone else think that Thoughtful Branches should have stuck around longer than a month? You'll have to pry this one from my cold dead hands.

Adorable, right?! I changed a few things on the card. I didn't have the writing notes stamp, but I did have 1 single piece of some brand of stitched designer paper! I searched high and low and eventually found it. It had beautiful thread stitching around the border, but desperate times called for me to cut it.

I've been holding on to that single sheet for probably 7 years. It was time.

If you zoom into the picture, you can see a lot of recycled elements, the leaves are from an old stack of in-color paper and the trunk (before stamping) came from a travel set. It was fun to use up some old scraps!

Really this whole card just sorta fell together since everything I needed just happened to be in my stash. I love when that happens.

Thanks for popping in today! I hope you have a stamptastic day.

Get out there and appreciate those teachers for making the world a better place!!

Project Life for TSOT!

Good morning!

This week's blog theme should be titled "All the things I should have purchased before they hit the retirement list."

I think it's pretty appropriate. haha.

I've watched TONS of gorgeous creations made with the Hello Lovely Project Life by Stampin' Up! kit, but thought "nah- I don't need that. I have TONS of other PL kits that are collecting dust."

Thats until they hit the retirement list and have discounted prices. Cha-ching. So, here I am again with another late-to-the-party creation!

This week at Try Stampin' on Tuesday we have a really fun sketch layout that I think everyone will enjoy! It's easy enough that a simple card will look great and leaves enough to the imagination that someone who likes to spend a lot more time than I do on cards will enjoy.

Here's my take:

Here's the sketch: (In reverse order because blogger likes to make the first picture ginormous)

Fun right? Come play along! We like to hang out on Facebook and on our TSOT blog

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope we see your awesome project! Have a stamptastic day!!
