Where do you find inspiration?

Good morning!

Yesterday, I walked to my mailbox to drop a birthday card in and luckily my mail lady had already been by.

Luckily? Yes! There was a new Ulta magazine in there! (Ulta is a beauty store that we recently had open. Its pretty magical, because I live somewhere that doesn't believe in good shopping--anyway)

I love to flip through the pages of the Ulta magazine because there is always pretty color combinations! Like it's their job to show whats "on trend" in the beauty world. Now, there has been times where I've tried (and failed) to recreate what I've found in these pages, but today I think I hit a home run.

Not to toot my own horn.

Today's inspiration draws from the super colorful Clinique Happy box! Doesn't it scream springtime?! (Dear Alaska...please jump on the spring season train. I'm sick of looking at snow.)

I knew I had the colors to make this happen and whipped up the background quite fast. I stamped the Happy and embossed it but wasn't quite pleased in how that was blocking my background, so I colored the outline in black and wiped with a tissue. (next time do this step before embossing so you don't get black smudges everywhere like I did). Then I trimmed to fit better. I added the SAB ribbon, Wink of Stella, and the birthday banner and called it a win!

Speaking of spring, this card fits perfectly with the new Watercooler Wednesday challenge! Its the perfect coincidence! Seriously, it doesn't get better than this, friends! haha.

Sorry about the wonky-sized pictures today, I didn't crop them before uploading and now they are big. Really big.

I'd love to know where you draw inspiration from? Post in the comments below!

PS: Shameless sales pitch. If you love Gorgeous Grunge (the splotchy black spots), NOW is the time to get it as it's being RETIRED. *sobbing* They are still available as of me writing this! (while supplies last- click on the banner below!)

TSOT Party Dinos!

Good morning!

I'm back at it after a short break from Try Stamping on Tuesday. Kids sports travel is killing us.  We are also getting out home ready to sell (cry!!! Anyone interested in moving to Alaska? I got a house for you!)

So This week for TSOT, we have a "Trio of Words theme" and a fun sketch layout! I figured this dino set needed some attention, and so far its been used on 2 or 3 projects now! Since it is a photopolymer set, it is easy to line up the bones to make these guys look like x-rays! I added a hat and a pompom to the Brontosaurus and now we have a party!

Be sure to join us HERE!
I joined the 2015-17 In-Color bandwagon late, so now I'm trying to make up for it. I was going to stamp-off the images, but I liked the saturation and kept it. This is a fun card for a boy or girl or even adult.

What are you going to miss most from the retiring catalog? I think I'm going to miss the punches that are returning and the Urban Underground suite. That one is PERFECT for the guys! Remember if you are wanting some items, be sure to order now as they are selling out fast!

Watercooler Wednesday Quickie!

Hey again!

I know blogging is supposed to have a schedule, but I had just a little time to jump in on a Watercooler Wednesday themed challenge, so I did! I mean, aren't these colors gorgeous together?

I'm also on a dino kick as of lately. I have had this set a while, but just recently started playing with it. Honestly, I bought it for my 5 year old because she likes dinosaurs and stamping and it's fun to have sets for her just to play with. I used to be more crazy about it, but in hindsight whats the big deal, right?

Fun right?! In my plea to get this card quickly made, I mistakenly grabbed Soft Sky instead of Pool Party. I didn't notice until I was putting my inks away! Gah! Oh well, close enough haha! Plus side is I don't use soft sky often, so there we go.

Thanks for stopping by (again!) Have a stamptastic day!

Eastern Palace Suite!

Hi friends!

Do you ever fall in love with a product and then have a really hard time using it?

That is me with the new Eastern Palace suite that I was able to pre-order as a demonstrator. (Don't worry, you'll be able to get your hot little hands on them soon!) This set is SO beautiful and has so many intricate details that can be added its mind-blowing!

After some trial and error, and a little CASING (Copy and selectively edit, copy and share, you get the idea) I made this little beauty! This is cased from StampinBJ. (check it out, I'll wait!)

Aren't these colors GORGEOUS?! They are 3 of the 5 new In-Colors; Fresh Fig, Lemon Lime Twist, and Emerald Envy. Ahhh......

I also used "contriband" (LOL, I love that term for non-SU items) Delicata Gold Ink because I discovered them on Jennifer McGuire Ink's page and had to add them to my arsenal. And because GOLD. This set has 2 pages with foiled gold details and they are so pretty!

A few metallic gold enamel shapes and gold thread and this baby is done. The lace details in the background are from the Sale-a-bration set Delicate Details and I just can't stop using this stamp set.  It was a late purchase of mine because I'm not a lacy-frilly kind of gal, but after I saw it used as a background on Pinterest, it was game on!

Lets talk retirement! Y'all. Stuff is FLYING off the shelves. If there is something that is retiring and you want it-- GO GET IT. Ask for forgivness later. If you missed something, don't fret! The new catalog is going to knock your socks off,  and I'm willing to bet there is something there you'll love even more. Promise. :)

Can't wait until June 1 to order? Join my team! We're a small and mighty bunch and I love helping people get started and find a new hobby!

As always, be sure to check me out on Facebook, I post a lot more "real time" on there. I thought for a while about ditching the blog, but not everyone is on Facebook, so I'll stay here a while as well. It just might be a little slower.

Hope you had a relaxing Easter weekend have a stamptastic day!
