Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop Part Deux!

Hey there! Didn't you just love Marsha's projects!! She's so talented.

Any who, it's been cooooooold here lately! We hit -50F (you read that correctly) in North Pole, Alaska yesterday and I'm glad I didn't have to venture farther than the end of the road for the bus stop! Today it's hovering around -40, so its warming back up. LOL!

I only live here because I love sharing this with friends.  Bananas, right?
For the hop! We were to make 2 projects for this to showcase the new Occasions Catalog and Sale-a-bration! I just loooooooovvvveeee the new catalogs. Actually, the whole year of Stampin' Up! catalogs have been probably the best BY FAR. Seriously. Love em. And hopefully will too after this hop! ;)

For my first project, I CASED (copy and selectively edit, share everything, you get the picture) the annual catalog! I used the Balloon adventures set and made this fun and very simple balloon card. Its simple because the stamps are photopolymer, so they are completely see through. That makes it easy to line them up without using a MISTI, Stamp-a-majig, etc. The sentiment is from the Sale-a-bration set Tasty Trucks!

For my second (and third) projects, I wanted to make a 3D item and a matching card that could be used as a gift set. I made this box using my gift box punch board and the thin cardboard that comes off the top of a new pack of grid paper! I used the Sale-a-bration (SAB) Carried Away DSP to decorate with retired Mint Macaron lace ribbon with the other SAB metallic ribbon combo pack. They are gorgeous! It measures 4x4x3.25 and used an 11x11 sheet of paper or the cardboard, like I used.

The matching card for the box is this fun hot air balloon card! Since I had the perfect sized scrap, I might as well use it up, right? My favorite part of the DSP is you know what colors coordinate, making the choices much easier. I used the swirly bits from the cupcake cutout thinlits and the sentiment is from Glamper Greetings, which is on the carryover list! I think it matches perfectly!

Thanks for joining us on this hop! I hope you enjoy and found some inspiration for your own crafty projects! Have a stamptastic day!!

Let's Celebrater!

Good morning!

It's been a busy week ever here, wrestling tournaments, meetings, snow, oh my! Now, a deep freeze--apparently colder than -40F (which is the same as -40C if you didn't know) is coming starting tomorrow night. Brr...

Glad to finally relax a little this week. Until it gets all booked up! haha.

Today at Try Stampin' On Tuesday we have a great challenge for you to play along with! By great I mean it'll make you want to bust out 4 or more cards using the sketch! Neat-o right?

Here's the sketch!

Here's my take(s!):
Take 1: Celebrater

If you look closely, you'll see what I mean about 'celebrater' haha. I thought I would stamp off the image, but forgot this embossing folder debosses, and well not it looks like I added an 'r' on the end. I think it's funny, so it's staying! Isn't this embossing folder amazing?

Trying to show the Wink of Stella accents!

Take 2: Because scraps! I already had the half sheet of Peekaboo Peach, so why not make another card? Flipped the papers around and added the Avant Garden stamp set in the coordinating in-colors and its a totally different card! The Work of Art stamp set was used to highlight the letters.

Take 3: Monochromatic in Sweet Sugar Plum! I'm on a roll now! Using the in-color envelope papers on this one, I stamped the Celebrate and created a simple yet beautiful card.

Take 4: A slightly different take! I actually made this kind of from memory and a few days before I made the other ones. The deer are from In the Meadow and they were actually recycled from a project long ago that never came to be and have been sitting tucked in a picture from on my desk. I broke out the Going Place paper stack (retired) and punched out the sentiment from Designer Tin of Cards and Banner and done! These adorable deer just needed the perfect project to be added to!

I hope you enjoyed all of these projects. It's amazing what a great layout can do for your creativity! Thanks for stopping by today and have a stamptastic day!

Earning Alaska First Purchase!

Twice in one day?!

I know, how lucky are you!! Lol!

This afternoon, I am excited to be taking part in the Earning Alaska 2018 blog hop again!! This is a group of demonstrators who are working together to reach their fullest potential and earn the Stampin' Up 2018 incentive trip, which is an Alaskan cruise through the southeastern islands! Exciting right! It's an area that since moving to Alaska I've never been, with the exception of Juneau for a roller derby trip a few years back.

TBT Fairbanks Rollergirls @ Juneau Rollergirls, 2013.
This hop is chalked full of talented demonstrators! They inspire me daily!!

The theme of this hop is "First Occasions Catalog Purchase!" Which is exciting because have you seen the thing! It was page after page of awesome! I have an obsession with birthday stamps. A girl can never have too many!! That said, the first item on my list was the Party Animal suite! I had to have it all. The best part is that SU and Sizzix did a great job of making sure the existing balloon punch coordinated with the set. So, if you don't have the means of die cutting, you can still use the punch for the awesome balloon stamps!

I made a few projects, which was not a requirement, but since they are all from the same suite, I'm just going to pile them all on! (another yay for you!)

The stretch for me were the colors. These are not colors that I use often nor together! I was happy to be able to break that thought process and make some fun items to share!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the accessories for this suite!! It is so versatile! You can make a shaker card as I did, and made it more difficult for myself since I got excited and put the foam on the white before I did any stamping- hence all the layers. But I still love it!

Aren't the embellishments adorable? In a training class by Janet Wakeland (she heard from another demo) that these are "card jewelry!" I thought it was perfect! They are fun, and come in Pacific Point Hats and Tangerine Tango balloons (which could also both make nice earrings!) Also, the layering is done with the coordinating washi tape!

Next up, is this super easy fold card. It has a real name, but its so easy it really doesn't need a catchy name to remember. The DSP is 5 1/4 x 4, flip on the long side and about 2 5/8 you make a 1 1/2" slit and fold the papers back to expose the backside of the DSP! I added some coordinating balloons with the punch and stamped with Milestone Moments.

This is a stamp set that just isn't getting a lot of love, but is adorable!! I love simple cards with minimal stamping, and that was the appeal of this "Super Duper" set! I created a simple banner using the Triple Banner Punch and balloon punch, and added some metallic gold thread, which you can find a way to add to just about anything! The tangerine tango balloon is stamped with the Birthday Adventures stamp!

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you have a stamptastic day and enjoy the rest of the blog hop!!
