Embossing fun!

So, in totally un-stampin' related fun, I found an alternate use for my embossing gun!

Please disregard my sad state of nails!

That, my friends is Scentsy wax that was spilled all over the wall (there was a lot more!) from a number of things...the dog, kids running around, you name it, they bumped into it. A friend who sells Scentsy told me once that you can use a blow dryer and a paper towel to soak up the wax and she was right. So, after enough procrastination, I busted out my embossing gun, because I don't own a blow dryer.   Now I have a nice clean wall and moved my Scentsy warmer to a safer location!

Hopefully I have some time to make some competition cards this weekend! At least a Halloween craft or two, since I still have a few days!

Have a scrap-tastic day!

Anniversary fun

Since yesterday was my anniversary, I made a lovely card for my darling hubby!

I layered Cherry Cobbler, Newsprint DSP,  Early Espresso paper and ribbon. The stamp set used is Love you much.
Aren't I sweet?!? I love gatefold cards! They are so elegant and really dont take a whole lot to do much with.  Really it took me all of 20 minutes to make this card, 15 of which was tying that darn bow. But, my hubby appreciated it, and said, "oh, a bow!" So it was well worth it. Even if my stamping was a little crooked...its handmade, what do you expect! :)

Here's the fabulous video I found on Split Coast Stampers (http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/?),  if you are interested in making a gate fold card. You should, I promise they are SO easy! (I used her basic measurements and then crafted while tuning out the rest of the video.)

And that's it! Hope you enjoyed and have a scrap-tastic day!!!

Where's the time gone?

Hello all! Sorry its been a while since last posting...school is keeping me nice and busy!

I'm going to be teaching card classes at the Eielson AFB Arts and Crafts center in November! (I had one for October, but it was poorly advertised, so no one signed up) I'm very excited to be able to share my hobby to those just "testing their fingers in the ink" as I like to say! So, here are two of the cards I'll be making, the third isn't finished yet, so I'll post it later.

It's hard to tell in the photo above, the bottom half of the card is also crimped. Adds a nice element!
I knew for November I wanted to use Day of Gratitude because it is amazing! It's the ultimate fall stamp set, and there is so much you can do with it!  I dug into my retired DSP stock and used Autumn Spice(2010 Holiday Mini) paper as well.

Update! Here's the third card ( I made it this morning before school so I could be sure to email them to the Arts and Crafts Center on base) I was supposed to add the big pretty stamp from Day of Gratitude in Crumb Cake ink, but completely forgot it in my rushed efforts this morning! It'd add just a little more 'pop' to it, but for ease, I'll leave it for now!

I found my prototypes in Split Coast Stampers (lots of greatness comes from there) since I need help in the simplicity department.  It kills me to leave them how they are, but they are still great, and took me very little time to make.

Have a scrap-tastic day!!
